David Wang is a science teacher here at North Park and the head of our science department. He was born in Toronto but his family comes from China and Taiwan. He is currently teaching Grade 10 Science and Grades 11 and 12 Chemistry. Additionally, he runs the Eco Club, which promotes recycling and environmental activities. Eco Club is committed to protecting our environment, communities, and future. Mr. Wang’s interests are very outdoorsy and down-to-earth. They include hiking, traveling, watching movies, reading books, and eating different foods. Fun fact for all those who didn’t know: Mr. Wang is also a former North Park student. During the interview, I was surprised to learn that Mr. Wang’s favourite singer is Bruno Mars; many students believed that, as a science teacher, Mr. Wang would prefer listening to classical music. It was great to learn he loves pop music and has such great taste in music.
