Running for the past 49 years, the CIAS (Canadian International Autoshow) returned for another year at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from Friday, February 16, 2024 to Sunday, February 25, 2024. It displayed exotic, and classic cars.
“It felt like a car museum”, said a student at North Park Secondary School who attended.
Another student said, “Not only was it a good spot for car enthusiasts to meet each other, but also for people to find a new car.”
Some cars to look out for were the Electric 1970’s Ford Bronco, the Tesla Cybertruck, the Rimac Nevera, Barbie’s 1957 Chevrolet Corvette, and the 2024 Porsche 911 GT3 RS. There was a Lego shop, and life-sized Hot Wheel cars displayed inside the venue.
Exhibits such as the Red Bull exhibit, which displayed their F1 car used in the F1 2023 season, and Hyundai, which showed their new EV vehicles, had a sim-racing setup to test the cars on different laps.
There were a total of 44 car brands being displayed, 16 more than the 2023 CIAS. Some brands that were present include Porsche, Lamborghini, and Aston Martin. Camp Jeep also made a return with their test drives around a track, and many other brands offered free test drives for their EV vehicles. The Pfaff group brought in a McLaren SLR and a full carbon fiber exposed Pagani Zonda R, worth almost 15 million dollars. Luxury cars such as the Rolls Royce Spectre, the Bentley Continental GT convertible, and hypercars like the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport were also present.
This year, the CIAS set a new attendance record of 371,559 people, breaking the previous record of 357,745 set over 5 years ago.
