Are you passionate about the environment? Do you want to help the earth? If yes, then Eco Club is the perfect fit for you!
North Park’s Eco Club is for students interested in ensuring that the earth’s environment is healthy. Club members take part in a variety of activities meant to educate them about the different ways they can help the Earth. For example, members help with cleanups around the school as well as energy and waste audits. Audits check for power wastage and contamination in recycling bins. Club members also get to learn more about how to protect the environment, such as learning about the effects of microplastics.
Moreover, Eco club has lots of other fun activities! Such activities include making bird feeders out of recycled materials, a thrift swap aimed to give old items a new house instead of throwing them away, and they are currently creating a mural out of recycled papers and plastics. Please feel free to drop by the library once it’s done to check it out!
Eco club is supervised by Mr Wang and Mr Dunkley, and meets every second Tuesday after school. Be sure to check out the club’s instagram, @npss_ecoclub, for more information about upcoming meetings, and to see everything they’ve done.
