Higher Education Club was introduced recently to North Park to support students in gaining valuable skills which employers are looking for while also allowing students to gain experience through volunteering for organizations which are beneficial for their post-secondary plans.
It is crucial for students to develop skills to help them in their future which is what the Hire Education Club focuses on during weekly meetings. Students participate in a series of activities such as resume and cover letter skills, mock interviews with the executives and teachers of the club, and learning financial literacy. The mock trial is what the club is focusing on currently.
Managers of various different professions are going to be contacted in the near future to be able to host mock interviews for the students to get real life experience of how interviews are held. Managers will provide feedback to allow students to increase their skills.
In addition, this club will host guest speakers. During the parent teacher interviews, parents will be invited to be a guest speaker to educate students on their professions.
Overall, Hire Education’s mission is to assist students to gain valuable skills and experience which will benefit them in their post-secondary plans and future careers.
