Have you ever wondered who creates the magic behind the scenes of amazing performances? Well, that’s the hard work of North Park’s Stage Technical Crew – Stage Crew for short.

Stage Crew is a student-run club, where students work with the intricate light and sound system for the stage. They can be seen working behind the scenes for various events including the yearbook theme launch, DECA Regionals, performance rehearsals, and more. While their efforts may go unnoticed, Stage Crew is a crucial part of every stage event.

Earlier in the school year,  members had to participate in stage technical training to prepare for events. Guided by Stage Crew trainers and executives, members received instructions on operating the light and sound systems. After thorough instructions, members were able to gain hands-on experience with the stage equipment, discovering broken lights in the process. After valuable learning, they took a short oral and hands-on quiz on their newfound knowledge, gaining experience through problem-solving, teamwork, and time management.

Stage Crew also faces its own challenges, particularly with equipment. Every year requires upgrading or repairing ongoing technical issues. While the equipment may seem simple to Stage Crew members, the new year was a chance to get new equipment. The previous year, broken lights were repaired and the on-stage speakers were upgraded, ensuring a smoother run for future events.

The school’s Stage Technical Crew is more than just a club. It is how the amazing school event you see on stage comes to be an amazing experience. Stage Crew is currently working towards an amazing experience for the 2024 Talent Show rehearsals.

So next time you enjoy a school event on the stage, forward your appreciation toward Stage Crew members for their amazing work.
