From February 6th to 8th, DECA students took part in the provincial competition. The competition took place in Toronto, where students had to stay at the Sheraton Hotel for three nights. With all of the students who competed, it was amazing to see our awesome classmates show their knowledge of business to everyone.
At 11:30 am on Thursday, February 5th, students got ready for this adventure. They travelled to Toronto with a mix of emotions. It was a truly stressful situation for all the students. When they arrived, they checked into their rooms and used the remaining time to study for the day ahead. The next day, our students competed with such passion and enthusiasm that they outperformed in the competition.
“DECA was an amazing chance to experience and learn. To just be there with friends, and the hype of competing was nice,” said a grade 10 DECA student. “The competition was competitive but was worth it. It was an experience to cherish.”
“DECA was very fun, and I am very grateful to have experienced it. It consisted of three days. The first day was to check-in, the second for competition, and the third was for awards.” said Aishwarya Kapoor, another grade 10 DECA student.
Our school’s DECA students demonstrated their hard work and dedication towards business and once again made our school proud. Not only did many of our delegates receive medals, but in the end, sixteen kids advanced to ICDC (International Career Development Conference).
Congratulations to all of our DECA delegation. We wish them the best of luck at ICDC and look forward to seeing these students continue to shine in DECA!
