On Thursday, May 29, the annual Athletic Banquet was held in the cafeteria. This was an opportunity to bring together students and staff to celebrate the efforts and achievements of student athletes throughout the year. Staff and students were told to dress in a vintage varsity outfit to match the theme.
The banquet began at 5:30 pm, starting off with announcing the Most Valuable Player and Most Improved Player awards for each sports team. Throughout the evening, the excitement continued as winners for various gift card prizes were also being revealed.
Vaidehi Rameshkumar, one of our school’s athletes, said, “It was very entertaining and I love the vibes there.” In an interview, she mentioned that a few of her friends won awards.
Kenisha Goyal, one of the Managing Editors of The North Star won Most Valuable Player for girls’ wrestling, and Aiesha Mirza won MVP for girls flag football. That’s only a few to mention!
Near the end of the event, many people started to participate in a game of dodgeball, volleyball or basketball until the event came to an end.
The night was filled with excitement and joy as the accomplishments of our athletes were celebrated. But in the end, the banquet wasn’t just about the awards, it was about recognizing the hard work that our athletes put in to make our school proud. To make this event possible, a big shout out goes to the coaches and student organizers. Can’t wait until next year’s Athletic Banquet and celebrate even more achievements.
