The Jr. Cricket team won the fourth consecutive title on May 13, 2025 with a stellar match against Stephen Lewis SS with a win by 50 runs.
In the final home-game of the season, the Jr. Cricket Team, captained by Arham Aziz and coached by Mr. Budhram, scored 68-2 in six overs, as compared to Stephen Lewis’s 18-6 in five overs, making for an amazing ending for an amazing season, as the team stayed undefeated for almost the entire season with only one loss. Aziz and the rest of the team stood proud as they hoisted the trophy.
“Cricket means a lot to me; I’ve been playing it since I was born and it’s a fun way for me to learn and have fun”, says Aziz when asked what cricket means to him. His biggest inspiration has been his father, “He’s always been a great cricketer and I always wanted to be better than him. He’s also been training me since birth and [he is] one of the reasons I’m successful today”. With hopes to go pro in the sport, he took this season to practice his playing and coaching skills, and made some good decisions and some he would change. “I would have liked to make more independent decisions since most decisions I made were team decisions. I’d want to give everyone more chances because I was trying to create the best team and some hard working people that came every day didn’t get to play much.” Overall, Aziz was happy with the season and encouraged others to try out for the team.
