Our varsity girls’ basketball team recently won their first game of the season 34 to 28 against Holy Name of Mary. The away game took place on October 7th. This is just the beginning of climbing up the rankings in their division! The girls are looking forward to an exciting season.
The team has completed 3 games so far into the season, with wins and losses. During an interview with the team it was mentioned that they have had many practices leading up to their games, and are grateful to have great coaches like Mr. Alves and Coach Brar.
Ira Desai, a player of the team was asked about the overall feeling of this year’s girls varsity basketball team. “It’s a good experience to finally have a basketball team at North Park after so many years.” She also added, “We need to be more confident going into games.”
The team is currently ranked 8th in their division, playing well so far into the season and representing North Park through their determination. Their next game is on October 24 where they will be going against Cardinal Leger, wishing them the best of luck for the rest of the season.
