Art Council is a club filled with artistic students who are dedicated to making art for community events. These meetings occur once a week, on Wednesday at lunch, where they create inspiring and meaningful art projects.
This club has helped create art for certain schoolwide events such as the Halloween photo booth, the IBT cookie-decorating event, the Thanksgiving tree, and more events that are to occur. The most recent projects of the Art Council included upcoming events such as A’n’T night and the Christmas photo booth.
“Art Council is a community of students who all share the same interests to create fun events that are stress-free and can bring people together,” said Khavya Sivakumar, one of the co-presidents. And when asked about her goals for the school year of 2025-26, she said she hopes to “create fun, successful events for all the students and to share the love of art in all its forms.”
Kush Kaur, the other co-president, said, “Art Council is a student-led club that celebrates creativity in all forms of visual art, crafts, design, performance, and more. We plan and lead art-related events, support school activities with creative projects, and give students a space to express themselves.” As for her goals, she listed off several key points that include “growing the club, making it a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone, and increasing student engagement in the arts.” We want more people to be comfortable joining and exploring their creativity.”
The Art Council works a lot behind big events to decorate and make the school a more welcoming place for the staff and students of our wonderful school.
